This generation of the Korean military has no war experience. So normally the USA should have no trouble taking them out. However several elements have to be taken into consideration:
1. It's close to Russia and China, which could disturb those two powers.
2. The have nukes.
3. U.S. allies South Korea and Japan are right next door, so there is no question of nuking North Korea.
4. The north Korean dictator is crazy enough to respond to a conventional attack with nukes.
So considering everything, I don't think George W. will dare to attack. Even though it is a weaker country than Iraq, and even though there is much more reason to attack it than Iraq, it might be more dangerous.
If had been believed that Iraq had the WMD's that the US government had claimed they had, I think George W. would never have attacked them either.

Exactly. He looked like a chick on tv this morning did Mr. Bush. How come he didn't bring up his infamous "WMD?" I'd wish North Korea wasn't messing around though. They always pull something when they want some aid or money. I wish they actually MEANT it this time. Can you imagine how fast Bush would need his soldiers in Iraq and Afghanistan and Columbia and (probably 10 other countries) to come home and TRULY "Fight for Freedom??!!"
Funny how no one bitched when the US tried their shock and awe but when North Korea tests something UNDERGROUND, everybody whines. Gotta love those "rogue states" eh?! LOL
I kind of hope North Korea does just pull the trigger. Wipe us off the map altogether. The way the world is now is horrendous anyways. Why anyone would want to welcome a child into this **** is beyond me. These breeders forget about September 11th already and that their own government orchestrated the attacks. 7 Hijackers were found alive in the Middle East. Plus, 15 of the hijackers were from Saudi Arabia anyways so why are they in Iraq and Afghanistan again??
COME ON NORTH KOREA!!!

The chances is not the full-scale invasion. But the CIA will work for the inside coup job.
The North Korean are in very bad shape in the economy situation. Some say they have mass starvations there. People are living very poorly.
The dictator is worst than the Saddam. There must be many people don't like him and willing to get rid of him.
Soon, you will see some assasin attempts. Then follow with some coops.
I bet there are some generals in North Korea will come up and fight the dictator to avoid an invasion with the UN and US.

Actually, the reason our troops 'lose' is because we were fighting with one hand tied behind us. Read up on the political ramifications of the Korean War on that time.
If we were to launch an attack on North Korea, we don't need to use the "Shock and Awe" techinque. Reasons being:
- they've already seen it all on the television;
- it's a different situation;
The most likely course of action would be the "Hard and Fast" technique. But then again, we don't have that many troops to go around so the possibility of this happening is relatively unlikely.

the korean military, although 1 million strong .. isnt all that good and isnt very well supplied ... the major problems with an invasion are the 1000+ artillary pieces the north could shower the south with killing thousands ... a single wave of airstikes couldnt take them out ... and the terrain is very rough to try to get to the norths capitol ..there are not any pretty military options the US can use on the north and that is why we havent dealt with them ...

Theres no way North Korea would win. I want to see their weapons reach the united states before i worry. The combined efforts of England and us will surely conquer them. Worst comes to worst we will have a draft.

The U.S. will consider it a Chinese problem. The Chinese will do nothing. Right now China's market is up over 1.4% just today, so nobody thinks China will do anything (while South Korea's market is down 2.65% just today).

Actually we beat those slant eyed gooks back. Even a million Chinese rice eaters couldn't handle old glory. It's pretty bad when you have a million man army and still have to negotiate out of weakness.

I sure hope so. Except we should use nukes instead so we won't have a chance of losing.
