Try mixing a bit of baking soda and peroxide into paste (it will be bubbly) then put it on a soft cloth and rub your teeth. You will be able to see the difference almost immediately.

Professionally is best and I had it done for $250.00 through Smiles for Life and it was 100% tax deductible. They made custom trays which you wear overnight with a solution in it
The whitening strips at the drugstore work good but only do front part of your mouth. Cost is around $35-$40. They do whiten and do a pretty good job.
Last choice would be just brushing regular with whitening toothpaste and don't drink cola, coffee or tea. Brush 3-4 times a day.
Good luck. There is nothing prettier than a bright, white smile.

I use a product called Natural white. You buy just the whitening gel, or a set with the gel and mouth rinse. It works pretty well, you just put the gel in this mouth guard type thing and wear it for about 15 minutes. The results aren't as dramatic as professional whitening would be, but are satisfactory. You should be able to find it at Walmart, Target, or any chain store. It's rather inexpensive.

These are all great ideas, but it's funny b/c I once had a roommate who used to be a dental hygenist, and we had this same conversation once. He looked at the ingredients of the whitening solution and said that "carbamide peroxide (15%)" is the professional (dentists') grade and chemical that you want to look for.
I've got this stuff called "Dental White"...it has carbamide peroxide (15%), and is supposed to work the same as professional...I just don't use it b/c it makes me gag.
There's another one I'm told of that he said works, and that is that one w/ the florescent light that you shine on your teeth.
The Crest strips are said to work pretty well too, but b/c it's a strip, it doesn't get in between the teeth...just the fronts.
Hope that helped some.

Right after I got my braces off back when I was a senior in highschool, which was 3 years ago. I had these small yellow boxes on my teeth where the braces where. And I used this toothpaste called remembrant and it worked great. It isnt that expensive, but it works. Trust me. But if you have already tried that, then try getting them overnight whitening strips. I havent tried them, but I have heard really good things about them.

Actually, you should check around for professional prices. Mine cost $400 at a local dentist for the Zoom whitener (like on ABC's extreme makeover). You could also try GoSmile. www. gosmile.com. I use the travel type tubes of gosmile for refreshers when needed.

baking soda works wonders. Brush your teeth with regular whitening toothpaste, and then go over them with baking soda and just a bit of water.
