People like to take their path seriously, for one. Fanatics and fundamentalists are even harder to get to laugh when discussing their faith and pointing out the holes. It is a shame though. One thing I read was advice to elders and said to keep a rubber fish or the spiritual equivalent on the altar (remember to keep laughter alive).

have to be damn smart to pull it off, and it requires a few of us to be on at the same time,
