First use a primer, then use enamel. It's harder than latex and easier to clean.

just regular paint. use semi gloss though if you have kids! I would also use white that way you can decorate around it. Like the knob and the scenery. If you use a solid dark color you might end up regretting it late.

ENAMEL IS BEST SO YOUR ABLE TO WIPE OFF EASILY AND NOT REMOVING PAINT WHEN YOU DO CLEAN THEM OFF.

if metal dont bother save your money, if wood sand, condition, stain, and poly.....
