Yes, and No. If you install a hot chip then yes it will. A low power chip can if you run it very hard constantly. It will also void your warrenty. If it is a 6.0 you have a 5 yr 100,000 mile warrenty. It is not worth it, plus the motor has enough power for what ever you need. I have seen too many motor problems like rings and valves worn out and blown up because of them.

With a Diesel it can as the truck depending upon kit and chip will send false signals to the computer and cause the truck to turbo boost harder than normal in normal situations... I've seen chips do damage to motors on these trucks (6.0s head gaskets) and as the other one said... Ford dealers have ways of finding the outlaw chip and denying warranty...
So once you are out of warranty, I say go for it.. Or if you have an extra $15,000 laying around just in case the motor decides to go southward...
The Gas engines, haven't seen them destroy a motor yet... But if you have problems and the fault is found to be a chip..warranty history
But have seen numerous people beleiving in K and N air filters coat the MAF sensor pretty hard... and casue nightmare problems.. sometimes cleaner works.. sometimes it's baked on and only a replacement can fix it

If it's equipped with 6.0L, yes it can BIG TIME. Doing so could also void your warranty. The 6.0L DIT engines have had numerous issues since it's introduction in early '03. There have been too many scenarios where warranties have been canceled due to "chips". The performance of this engine is more than adequate for your needs, when everything is working properly. If it's equipped with the gas engine, disregard everything I've said.

my buddy instaled a banks kit in his f350 swears by it...
I have been warned that you have to do your research to make sure that you dont damage the engine....I have a f250 and have done some mods on the intake and exhaust ..plan on upgrading the chip ... head gasket and bolts....also a propane system..
from what I have read the only way the chip damages the system is when you push the engine way beyond its limits...peace

The chip won't, but if you continually abuse the extra performance, your foot will probably damage the motor...

It will if you run low octane gas in it. The chip advances your timing, among other things. And a knock sensor only HELPS to retard timing to counter act pre ignition. Make sure you use 89 octane minimum.

is it diesel or gas? the diesel one will greatly improve the engines performance but, you have to watch the exhaust temp. the gas one is a gimme, like the other dude said watch your octane ratings. and don't run cheap gas such as AM/PM.
