You've gotten a lot of BS answers, I'm so sorry. The easiest way is by its call. Males will make the Chi-Chi-Chi call, and females can mimick this call. Do you mean a guinea pig? This question is under the Birds section. If you mean the piggie then it's just like what the others said, look for testicals. If you dont see any then you've got a female.

check the color of the beak.if its blueish its a male if its light pink or tan its a female

the females are a lighter color and the males are a darker gray.
