Not a self-help book or a book that just lectures about it. I am looking for one that has been written by someone who has suffered from major depression and tells of their experience. I have read Sheila Walsh's "Honestly", and have ordered Brooke Shields' "Down Came the Rain" although it is about post-partum depression. But can't find any other good books. Any suggestions?

Go to MaryEllenCopeland.com... The book that she has written "The Depression Workbook" is great but is probably what you would consider self-help. There is other stuff on her sight.

there is a poetry book called "staying alive"; it is a compilation of various types of poetry, many of them dealing w/ depressing issues.
