I went to the doctor because i was having yeast infection alot. She said that i had a bacterial infection. She wanted to run other test for std. I went back a week later and all of my tests where back and they were good but she said the hepres test had not come in so i went home and about an hour later she called and said my herpes test was pos. One of the reason i don't want to believe it is because the test did not come back with the others, somewhere in my mind i am hoping that it was a mix up somewhere I don't know what to do. I didn't know i had it, i still can't believe it because i have not had any symptoms like the cold sores or the sores below. People are telling me different things like the yeast infections are not a sign. I wanted to get tested one more time then maybe if it comes back pos. i will accept it. So could someone help me and tell me some of the symptoms or should i go and see an gyn. Sorry for all the writing i just scare right now and need help and support.

I didn't know that there was a test for herpes unless there is a present lesion. I would get a second opinion.

Herpes is a scary thing.. All of the stds are. Chances are, the test was right. Just because they came in at different times, doesn't make them any less accurate. If you want a second test done, go to a planned parenthood or another office and request a test. If it is true.. I'm very sorry. My friend found out she had it about a month ago. Her bf gave it to her and she was miserable. Shes doing much better now. It helps once you have all the facts. Not too good with statistics but i think its something like 3 out of 10 people aged 18-24 have herpes. And most of them don't know they have it. I'll put some good websites at the bottom. Hang in there.

What kind of test did your Doctor run? Typically, the only way to test for Herpes is if there is a sore present and that sore is swabbed and cultured. There is a blood test, but it is rarely done, not very accurate and does not help much because it does not answer whether or not it is genital or oral herpes. And, there is absolutely no correlation between Vaginal infections such as Bacterial vaginosis and Yeast and STD's. I would ask your doctor how she tested you for herpes and I would also double check that herpes is indeed the test that came back positive. Everything that you've mentioned really doesn't correspond to a herpes diagnosis. And, to the people that asserted that this is happening to this person because she or her partner is sleeping around/slutty---you folks really need to take some time and educate yourselves. Of course, the more partners someone has the more at risk they put themselves. But, STD's can happen to anyone that is sexually active and often happen to people in monogamous relationships and/or people having sex responsibily. No one is immune to STD's. 1 in 5 Americans has genital herpes, and most of them don't know that they do.

To put your mind at ease I would ask to be tested again. If it is positive there are medication you can go on to reduce to outbreaks. Some people are positive but don't actually have any symptoms, However you can still spread Herpes to others even though you don't break out. I know right now your scared and wondering how it could have happened to you. Herpes is widespread, people spread it without even knowing they have it. I would rather know so that I didn't infect anyone else. God bless, and good luck.

To have u accept it and get treatments, go have a second test dear. I have read that sores may or may not be present for one to have the disease. How many yeast infections did you have? Just go get a second test and if it comes out positive, go get treated for it. Life does not end when u have herpes. Ur doctor will tell you how to deal with it. Take heart, take one step at a time. Now you can pass on the lesson u have learned the hard way. Take care. I really wish you well.

There are prescription medications to help control the genital herpes. You will need to not have sex when there is any sign of sores, but you can still pass on the herpes.

Herpes is an STD so from whom did you get it?

Look up genital herpes on wedmd.com and you will have plenty of information to read

Listen, **** happens. Sometimes, bad things happen to good people. This doesn't mean you will never have sex again, or that nobody will ever love you. It is just something you have to deal with. However, I would get another test. If it comes back positive, throw yourself a "Hey, I've got herpes!" party. You might as well celebrate, because it's not going away!

Good luck!

Well if you were sleeping around or your partner was sleeping
around then, yes 99.9 say you have it. Let the Dr. give you medication. That is why we as adults says safe sex or no sex.
But mined you their are some adults that still don't comprehend
the safe sex or no sex. It doesn't matter if your a guy or girl
this is for people in general. Use a CONDOM!!. Also remember
this when your ready for a child, you can pass it to your baby.
For Girls going through delivery at their last trimester, it is always
better to have a c-section. This way the baby wouldn't get
the disease. Good Luck in the future case it'll stay with you
for ever.

Stop denying it. You have Herpes. You should have quit screwing everyone you met before you got infected but it's too late for that now, you're a regular Typhoid Mary ... or Herpes Mary, whatever. Get into a monogamous relationship with someone who is likewise infected so you don't screw up anyone else's life.
