I'm going to Portland on business. I'm just going to have one evening there. What is something inexpensive to do there? I'm staying at PSU.

People in Portland are not like those in larger cities... there is still some small-town pleasantness. Stop almost anywhere around PSU and people will be happy to tell you their favorite thing/place. There are tons of fountains and great architecture, stroll along the waterfront and enjoy the view, take an elevator up to the top of the "pink tower of power" and grab a drink at City Grill while checking out the 360' view of the city. PSU is primarily a commuter school, so everyone will have varied ideas of what to do.

Hey.

i live in gladstone, which is about ten miles from psu and on the other side of the river.

I've dlived in the area my whole life and I'm 27.

There really is not anything in this town that is exremely exiting. There's the zoo which youcan get to by the max train, which runs through downtown. There's the three malls, which are nothing if you've been to mall of america in minnesota, Clackamas town center, lloyd center which is near downtown and washington square in beaverton to the west. there also is pioneer square in downtown.

other than that there is just a bunch of smaller restraunts and such,

Are you coming soon, the wehtat is supposed to be decent for awhile still.

Since you are already downtown, just stroll around.
Head north from PSU, or you will be going away from town.
Stop anywhere that looks interesting.
Have dinner. Watch a movie.
