You should check with your dealer. GM has several fluids and some of them have been changed or upgraded. If you have your owners manual, it will tell you what your truck took when it was new. but you should use what is recommended now.The newer fluids keep the transmission cooler thus extending the life of the transmission., and most of them are synthetic.

nicely could desire to you replace the transmission oil in this instruction manual transmission. nicely, in case you pull the incorrect bolt available could desire to be each and every style of issues even hap to interchange it. which will propose deep pocket's to interchange the transmission. Take it to a save and that they'll drain it and placed the right grade oil and the upload the Lucas additive to it interior the right volume. It plenty much less messly for them to do and get it perfect the 1st time. The oil is chaned approximately each and every one hundred,000 mileage. it may be verify each and every year for the point and if water has have been given into it. If water has have been given into it. Then it may get replaced. Stickly equipment could desire to be simply by low oil. Or it may desire to be the incorrect grade of oil. reason it is going to burn and gum up and make factor stickly..the save could have the procedures placed the oil decrease back in. It would not value that plenty to get accomplished.

You need to check with the dealer.
I had a GM car that used 10w30 in the transmission.
