I spent some time in the streets of Brazil, particularly in Ceara, and had several times a type of shake made of Guarana a brazilian berry. Does anyone know what is typically used in it? Or ever heard of it?

Guarana is a mild upper like coffee or betel nuts.

Add a tsp of powder to your favorite shake or smoothie recipe. It is slightly bitter, and goes best with chocolate or acidic fruits.

guaraná is pretty energetic and has an effect like caffein ....you can buy it powdered.... have you drunk guarana soda.... its reallly good.... The best brands deliver a fruity taste, aren't overloaded with sugar, and have a pleasant aftertaste.... the diet guarana is the only diet soda i know that doesnot taste bad....
