Yes you can, but you need to go to a professional. The hairstylist will first need to strip the color out of your dark hair (like bleaching) and that can be hard on hair, so he/she will use special conditioners to keep your hair healthy.

Going from dark to blond works for some people, but you might like to consider doing it in a few stages to see if you like it. Also remember the need for upkeep in terms of coloring the dark roots that will grow back (unless that's the look you want)

yup, you sure can. if you plan on doing it yourself, go to the store and buy hair bleach, lightener, or a frosting kit if you want streaks. frosting kits usually come with a cap to help you distribute the streaks because otherwise your streaks might come out unevenly dispersed. if your doing all of your hair, you might want to get it done professionally. usually your roots come out brighter than the ends because the heat from your head warms the chemicals and changes the color faster than the rest, so usually you should leave a 1 inch gap on the roots and do it last (there are usually directions on a hair lightening kit). if you don't leave it on long enough or use weak bleach, you'll probably end up with an orange color. to help not get the brassy color, get it done at a shop or else your chances are high of getting that orange-look. good luck! but whatever you do, do not leave the chemicals longer than advised or your hair will get ruined!

Well...you could, I mean, even jet black hair will lose all pigment if bleached enough, but would it clash with your skin tone? Don't automatically rule blonde out if you aren't white, because Beyonce and J.Lo both look great w/blonde. (But maybe be cautious if you have yellow/olive skin tone). Anyhow, *step away* from the hair-bleaching kit and go to a high quality (read:expensive) place to get it done right.

You can, although the effort it takes to bleach the color out might do some severe damage to your hair. And it will require a great deal of upkeep, as your roots will be very noticeable as soon as your hair grows. You'll have to be really good about getting it done every few weeks.

Yeah you can. Thats what i did! Bt first you have to die your hair brown a couple of times if your hair is dark. After its brown, you have to die it blonde. It worked for me!

Depends on your skin color. If you have very dark or tan skin, and brown eyes... this look probably won't work for you. Look into highlights instead to lighten your hair color, it will look more natural anyway. However, if you have light eyes (blue, green, or gray) this might actually turn out very pretty for you, but definitely get a professional opinion of someone who actually knows what you look like first (since I have no idea what you look like). Lastly, check into what shade of blond you want to get. My advice is (especially if you have dark eyes and are determined to dye your hair anyway) to get a darker blond color such as a "sun-kissed" or "honey blond" color, or dirty blond color instead of "sandy" or "platinum." good luck!

Regardless of how well you will look in blonde hair. no, do not do it....trust me, all my friends have gone through that phase and has only ended in disaster & made a lot of hair techs rich! Try highlights or a rinse in....you will regret it....something about making your hair lighter when age will surely do that for u on its own time so be your own beautiful self, k?

Yes. I have dark brown hair, and my cosmotologist highlighted it with two shades of blonde (ash and golden). It came out beautiful. A positive change and I have received lots of compliments on it. Also, had my long hair cut into layers, so it is wispy around my face. Change is good sometimes.

First off, don't make your hair die or you will become a dead-head. :-) But if you want to dye your dark hair blonde then you should bleach it out with peroxide first.

Yes you can. But, look for a blond coloring kit that is especially made for darker shades, otherwise it may turn out more reddish than blond. Good luck.
