Ano, with a tilde over the "n" which makes the pronunciation "Awn-yo." As in "right on" and "yo dude."

1 year- un ano
2 years- dos anos
new year- ano nuevo

unless you want to say our current year, it should be dos mil seis ano....with the pronounciation of the n as "anio" or "anyos"...

hahaha...this is one of the few words that I NEVER omit the tilde on...it's año.

My favorite exchange:
Cuantos anos tienes?
Yo tengo uno...y tu? ;)
