oh hell yes.you need to read Clifford Pickover's "strange brains and genius" there is a correlation between HIGH IQ and social instability......high IQ often equals inability to socialize and many quirks and eccentricities.
high IQ folks are much needed resources that we can tap for inventions and such............... but.on the social front.they are better left alone. they are often miserable people. I love em dont get me wrong! im fascinated by them.....but they need help with their quirks.... its just a part of evolution.......... they are in a stage of growing........living with us "dumb" folks is hard at times........ they are having growing pains.
still because they are so "smart" they overlook the important things of life.like laughing at a dumb joke....... or being able to look at a beautiful sunset without thinking of how many miles it is way and what elements the sun is made of etc etc.......
they get frustrated often.
it is also known that the higher the IQ the lower the marriage rate............ they often do not marry. and live celebate lives.
child geniuses do not fare well.because they "grow into" their IQ.......... treated special throughout their childhood, complete with its frustrations of being smarter than the parent........ they suddenly find themselves 21 and equal with many smart young adults and realize all they did was miss out on a childhood.
read "Strange Brains and Genius" its fascinating and explains the emotional IQ thing.

Of course, but the book I have on Emotional Intelligence is much older than seven years. It was written in 1994 by Daniel Goleman. We are finding that not only is it a survival tool, it is a much better indicator of how successful a person will be.

Yes I have heard of it, basically a way in which to measure you emotional maturity. Like the IQ, the higher the numer you score, the more emotional mature you are.
