True but most people never take the time to read the O T. and so don't realize Christ fulfilled all the OT prophecies of the coming Messiah.

Yes, but do you realize that the Old and New Testaments were put together by committee. They also have been translated and re-translated multiple times making it difficult to be sure what some of the books originally held. Then there all the books deemed heretic because they did not fit into the image desired by the councils that decided what Christianity is and isn't

babyinwomb,
Thanks for bringing that up. There are a lot of typologies in the Old Testament. Most people I find don't know what to do with that. It's as if Jesus was someone who wandered into history and found out that things were set up for Him.

Both sons made 3 day journeys.
Both sons returned intact.
Isaac's son Jacob, founded the nation of Israel.
God's son Jesus, founded the ultimate holy nation - the Church.
Yet somehow, people still try to deny the God-inspired, divine nature of scripture.
Go figure!

The Old and the New are both valid today. They are intertwined. People who say that the Old Testament is done away with simply has no clue! God Bless!

Yes. The old testament is types and shadows of the new testament. It just depends on which side of calvary you are standing on. Paul stated that the old testament was given as our example.

I agree. However, NOT everything in the OT is a type. For instance, The Ten Commandments are NOT a type. The ceremonial laws and the sanctuary, however, are types.
