Muslims (and Islam) say Jesus was a prophet but they reject all His teachings ...

They reject Christ's divinity;
they reject his claim to be the Son of God;
they reject his death on the cross...
they reject His ressurrection..
They reject Jesus is the Christ/ Messiah...
Need I say more...?

Don't be deceived. The Islamic god is totally different than the God of Jesus Christ .

"Who is a liar but he that denies that Jesus is the Christ? He is anti-Christ, that denies the Father and the Son. He that denies the Son, the same has not the Father." (I John 2:22)

Hi. Pleace accept my humble obesainces. First of all, I would like to say I am not a Muslim nor am I a Christian, but I did choose my own faith, and I did convert from Christianity. When I was young I was pretty much believing in the Christian faith, until I got to be a little older and it didn't answer all my questions. I went through phases of trying out other religions, and finally settled on Vaishnavism (the Hare Krishna movement). I chose it because it not only answered all the questions I had floating around, but it helped me in my personal struggles. I am interested in Islam, even though I'm happy with my religion. One of my really close friends is Muslim; it's very interesting to talk to her about religion.

Peace.

I choose Islam as my religion because it is the best and logical religion.Its holy Qur'an has no controvercies and clear .Holy Qur'an is life guidance from Allah Almighty and we should obey it if we want to be saved here in this world and the future life after we died..I studied the meaning of the contents of our holy Qur'an verse by verse so I have a whole picture of it and I try to realize it in my everyday life.I learned also hadith as an explanation and interpretation from Muhammad pbuh..I read also some book of Islamic teaching written by welknown muslim theologists.Besides
that I read also the book of a comparative study between Islam and Christian religion.We recognized Jesus as our prophet too but we do not follow his christian teaching because that holy book contains so many changes by men so its originality from Allah has lost and has many contradictions.Taurat and Bible are out of date and contains many false verses.

I believe Prophet Muhammad is the last Prophet sent to mankind which is why I'm Muslim. But Christians follow a great, honored man of God who has gave them the tools to be successful and enlightened human beings. I think what you choose is irrelevant if you sincerely think you are right and pleasing God.
We will always be wrong at one point or another because we are not perfect.

PS: Muslims do believe that God raised Jesus to himself, but we believe that he didn't die on the cross but it was made to appear so.

To Gary: At the very top:

You said about the Muslims:
They reject Christ's divinity;

Yes, we do. You attach divinity to him when you should not. Many prophets have performed miracles but they were not divine. They received power from God, just like Jesus did.

You said about the Muslims:
they reject his claim to be the Son of God;

His calim...? He never claimed he was the Son of God or God as you call him. All this stuff comes from implied meaning. No direct quotes. Infact he went out of his way to state that he and God were two different things and he was not equal to God at all. Consider the following quotes:

John 14:28 “the Father is greater than I”, Mark 12:29 “Here, O Israel: The Lord our God is one Lord”, John 7:16 "My teaching is not mine but His who sent me”, and my favorite, John 5:30, “I can do nothing on my own. As I hear, I judge; and my judgment is just, because I seek to do not my own will but the will of Him who sent me.” The reason Jesus consistently speaks of God as someone other than himself is because God is someone other than Jesus himself.

Asides from this, the phrase, "son of god" was used by the Jews to refer to someone who was close to God, someone who was very pious, like a prophet, a powerfull king or a judge or a special agent of God. The more appropriate translation would be "a slave of God" or a "servant of God" or an "agent of God". Think about it. If the meaning is what you say it is then the people who used this phrase, the Jews, should have known what it means. Why would they say that this not what we meant by the phrase?

You said about the Muslims:
they reject his death on the cross...

On this I will trust the Quran and not the Biblke you posses today as it has been translated from translations that have been translated from yet even more translations. The Quran says that "it was made to appear that way...". So you saw him as if he died on the cross but he actually did not and was lifted back to heaven.

You said about the Muslims:
they reject His ressurrection..
Yes, that's true, we don't.

You said about the Muslims:
They reject Jesus is the Christ/ Messiah...
Actually, we don't. We believe that he is the Messiah. The problem is that you don't know what a Messiah is? Our understanding of the word Messiah is the same as that of the Jews. The Jews invented the word and they should know what it really means. We took the word from them and so we agree with their definition of the word. You think Messiah means "the son of god". Jews say it means someone who is chosen by God through divine interventions to be a special agent for a very special purpose, to fulfill a promise of God. So, we say, since Jesus was born miraculously to the Virgin Mary, that is pretty much a divine intervention of God and he did perform miracles that God allowed him to, so yes he is the chosen one. And hence, he is the Messiah...but no Son of God. That's just a mis-interpritation of the word, Messiah.

Need I say more...?
Please no more....!

I understand the trinity and know it isn't 3 gods. Muslims won't even try to understand it, and they try to make people disbelieve all the time. Muslims try to lead people away from God and replace Jesus with Mohammad. They say they are not trying to replace Jesus, but they put Mohammad above all other "equal" prophets, which is a contradiction. Contradiction = lie. Islam = lie
