Mr. Franklin was probably the greatest man in the Americas during his lifetime. Among the things he contributed to the Revolution were: Importing a pamphlet writer by the name of Thomas Paine to publish a provocative paper called "Common Sense". And appointing a guy named Jefferson to write the Declaration of Independence.
