My friend that is a boy (not a boyfriend) likes this girl that he has known since they were toddlers. They lived across the street from eachother for atleast 5 years. They were always good friends until last year. They began fighting a little bit and then they would make up. This year he decided to tell her that he likes her more than a friend. She doesnt like him, she likes someone else, who likes her back....So, she rejected him... Now he can't get over her. Everytime he sees something, it reminds him of her!?!?!

What should he do???? Try to forget about her or try to win her back?

....????

Well, obviously he's in a great deal of pain. It stings to get rejected plus, he obviously has some very strong feelings for this girl. As his friend, about the only thing you can do is let him vent and try to bolster his confidence by pointing out the things you admire in him and how there are certainly many "fish in the sea."

If he doesn't show signs of improvement this week, may I suggest that you encourage him to talk to an adult such as a teacher or pastor he respects. If he is resistant to getting some help to deal with his brokenness and he continues to be obsessed with this gal, you may want to talk to someone on his behalf because you are his friend and he would probably do the same thing for you out of concern.

I don't want to sound like an alarmist but he obviously is very hurt. He may be a very sensitive lad who has trouble coping with these sorts of feelings or takes rejection especially hard. I do wish him the best, and I'm certainly glad that he has a friend like you for support to help him through his time of need.

I say IF HE TRUELY loves her, be a good friend like they always have been.. be supportive and all. U never know what's gonna happen in the future with her and her boyfriend.. BUT having said that, try to forget her as more than friends.

Since the girl doesn't like your friend romantically, it's best for your best to "back off" and be her friend for now. The more he tries to pursue her, when she is seeing sb. she likes, the more turn off she is. Tell your friend to keep being friends w/ her. Maybe time will help her see who does she really like.

Wow... i would suggest he remains her friend... obviously it won't be the same type of friendship but he should remain polite and friendly with her... and let nature take its course... as the old saying goes what's meant to be will be.
