Hello people... Dance with my father is about a father who is Dead... Who would want that as their wedding song???

The Heartland song is the best one out there right now. Go to myspace.com and click on music, you can listen to it there. I danced with my Dad to Celine Dion "I'm everything I am because you loved me". But if this song had been out then, it would have been this one. Congrats to your daughter.

I also recommend "Dance with my Father" by Luther Vandross. You can't listen to that song without crying.

Here are the lyrics (although they're only half the greatness of the song):

Verse 1:
Back when I was a child
Before life removed all the innocence
My father would lift me high
And dance with my mother and me and then
Spin me around till I fell asleep
Then up the stairs he would carry me
And I knew for sure I was loved

Chorus:
If I could get another chance
Another walk, another dance with him,
I'd play a song that would never ever end
How I'd love love love, to dance with my father again

Verse 2:
When I and my mother would disagree
To get my way I would run from her to him
He'd make me laugh just to comfort me(yeah, yeah)
Then finally make me do just what my momma said
Later that night, when I was asleep
He left a dollar under my sheet
Never dreamed that he would be gone from me

Chorus:
If I could steal
One final glance
One final step
One final dance with him
I'd play a song that would never ever end
Cause I'd love love love to dance with my father again

Verse 3:
Sometimes I'd listen outside her door
I'd hear how my mother cried for him
(x2) I'd pray for her even more than me

I know I'm praying for much too much
But could you send back the only man she loved
I know you don't do it usually
But dear Lord she' s dying to dance with my father again

Every night I fall asleep
And this is all I ever dream

Daddy's Little Girl by the Mills Brothers, Butterfly Kisses by Alison Kraus, or the song by Heartland.

'Butterfly Kisses'. It's all about a beloved daughter growing up and getting married but still being the father's little girl.

Butterfly kisses....came out when my mom passed away and hearing that song made me realise then and there that even though I felt all alone in the World, I still had my dad and knowing that made me a better, stronger, more confident person...

Butterfly kisses is a really good one. I don't know the name of the singer.
There is a new country song out. I think the name of it is I loved her first. I don't know the artist.
