Yes you should. They make a toothbrush that fits on the end of your finger, you can buy them where pet supplies are sold. Whatever you do, DO NOT use human toothpaste, it is toxic to animals. They make a pet toothpaste it comes in beef flavor.

Plac can build up on a dogs teeth and cause bad breath as well as tooth decay and other more serious diseases. I once helped on an autopsy of a Skipperke that died of a brain abcess. The abcess was traced back to an upper left molar that had abcessed and traveled to his brain through his sinus cavity.

Hard dog food and chew toys also help with plac control

Yes you should it will help with the dog breath and also keep his teeth and gums healthy. It's the best time to start while he is still a puppy. You don't need to do it as often as your own teeth once to twice a week. If you want to you can also help by purchasing dry dog food that help with bad dog breath. And get some good chew toys (save your shoes) but to keep an eye on your puppy as he chews. Like a child they can swallow small pieces and cause you a huge headache and vet bill. Even the greenies (a brand of chewies for teeth) have been known to kill dogs left unsupervised while chewing. By the time the owners realized what was happening the dog was beyond help.
Good luck with your new puppy! And enjoy its antics! They grow up too fast!

Brushing your puppy's teeth is a very good thing to do; just like humans, tooth-brushing helps to cut down on tartar on the teeth and protects the dog from gum disease. But make sure you use ONLY dog-safe toothpaste. Toothpaste made for humans can make your dog sick (or even kill it in large doses). You can get the toothpaste and brushes on-line through:

By all means brush your puppies teeth, it's a good habit to get into and will save your puppies teeth & he/she will have healthy gums.
They'll get so they look forward to getting their teeth brushed.
There's different flavoured tooth paste for dogs.

it is a good idea to start brushing their teeth when they are young. I think there is doggy toothpaste at the pet store. It helps keep their teeth clean just like brushing your teeth helps to keep your teeth clean.
Have fun

Yes! It's more important with adult teeth, but it is a great way to teach your dog to like it (or at least tolerate it). There are some doogy toothpastes at Petsmart that work well. It's also a good idea to have adult dogs clean professionally every now and then for build up.

Get your pup used to having it's teeth brushed now. You'll be glad you did yourself this favor as he gets older.
