I like to cut myself on my legs or burn myself when I feel something way too much. I dont want to be like this, I am way too addicted to drama. So any tips on how I can make my escape from my beasts without visiting a psych ward? It comes from my overly obsessive tendencies.

i was a cutter, well can be sometimes if a situation is greater than i can handle. but than i put rubber bands on my wrist so whenever i get truly pissed i snap it really hard. so it has that same pain effect but no scars with it afterwards. you dont have to go to a psych ward you just have to learn to let things go and realx. have fun and not take everything so seriously.

hope i helped

If you hurt yourself intentionally, remember you are not alone (I've been there too!) You might think that this behavior makes you a "weirdo," but you can see from the statistics that it is more common than you thought. 2-3 million people have the same problem. Talk to your PRIMARY CARE doctor about getting on some medication like Wellbutrin (an anti-depressant) chances are they've helped others with this same problem. Whatever pain or bad experiences underlie your urge to self-injure, a professional isn't the only person who can help you with this.

I didn't go to a professional psych to talk about my problems - But I did go to one to get some kind of assistance (meds). (Do keep in mind that it might be a good idea for you to go to a professional to get on some type of medication that will help you.. I'm on meds and they really do help.)I wrote poetry, drew pictures, listened to music, worked out - anything to keep my mind off of cutting.

I'm bi-polar, so when I'm having a bad day it's like the end of the world for me. I'm also obsessive compulsive, so when I do cut myself it's about like five or ten cuts that are really deep. I have really bad scars, and it's totally embarrassing.

I was in a bad place a few months ago (going through a very emotionally abusive relationship) and I had to give myself a reason to hurt the way I was hurting emotionally - so when I'd cut, it'd let me know that the pain I was feeling was real. It sounds weird and it's hard for people to understand who aren't cutters - but this is something that can be good for a person. It's better than going out and using hard drugs, or doing other things that can be really bad for you. It's a way to get your feelings out and it's a coping mechanism for people like you and me.

Don't let anyone bring you down by calling you some sort of freak just because you let your emotions out in other ways than some people. You're not a freak - it's the only thing that gets you through it. And chances are, they haven't been in your shoes, so they don't know exactly what's going on.

If you are going through a lot and you need someone to talk to - - Feel free to e-mail me. I've been in your shoes and I'd love to help. xSELFxXxMADEx@Yahoo.com

Yes there is hope. I would suggest talking to a councer, and no it's not the phyce ward. There are also lots of websights that tell you how to deal with this kind of problem, I should know because I am going through the exact same thing. Try the sights, they have a really good breathing activity that helps.

find some 'alternative' ways insteads of cutting. i'm a cutter too and it is something i been doing with since i was 11 and i am now 24 dealing with it with my therapist. if you want help, try DBT or talk to a therapist. sometimes just talking will help. also that helps me is journaling. if you are a person who can express themselves in writing join bloopdiary.com and vent how you feel. let me know if you do i can support you in any way i can.

Nope, there are no home remedies for this. You better get professional help. You are ruining your body and your mind. Youre hurting yourself and everyone around you that knows about it. Its a mental desease and you need real help for it. The best thing is youve taken the first step by admitting that you want to stop doing it.

I WAS LIKE YOU ARE AT ONE POINT IN MY LIFE AND ALL I DID WAS WRITE WHAT I AM FEELING OR THINKING ON PAPER AND BURN IT BUT THE BEST THING FOR YOU TO DO IS EITHER TAKE IT OUT ON A PILLOW OR A WOODEN BOX OR YOU COULD GET BACK TO ME AND WE CAN CHAT ABOUT WHY OR WHAT MAKES YOU DO IT
