I'm a guy and I'm 22 and I color my hair sometimes. For example when I was a brunette, I used brilliant brunette by John Frieda. Then I got my hair dyed professionally and it was a deep red so I used the Intense Red by John Frieda. Now, I dyed my hair blonde (ginger ale # 91 by Garnier Nutrisse) and it looks awesome. So I went out and bought Pantene Expressions for darker shades of blonde hair which mine is. Has anyone ever used this stuff and if you have, do you find that it REALLY works? Does it hold in your color? Does it make it more vibrant and shiny? That sounds so gay lol. Any answers would be appreciated (since I did spend $5.99 on Pantene lol.)

My daughter has blonde highlights in her already blonde hair and I buy the pantene expressions for blonde hair for her and she loves it. It seems to hold the color in longer and it keeps her hair shiny and manageable which is nice since she has enough hair for a small country! Nice to save a buck or two as well...=)

All drugstore shampoo (including Burt's Bees and especially Pantene) is very harsh and will strip the color out of your hair. Shampoo molecules go into the hair shaft, attach themselves to molecules of dirt and oil, and wash out. Shampoo cleans hair, that is ALL that it can possible do. They simply market it for everything under the sun to rip people off, and it works brilliantly. Conditioner deposits oils and minerals back into the hair shaft in appropriate amounts, that is it. So drugstore shampoo/conditioner will strip out your color because it is harsh, but other than that neither will have any effect on your color.

I use Pantene Expressions as well and after I take my shower my hair is really shiny and auctually vibrant. It is a good buy and what makes it shiny are the amno-proteines which do wonders for the hair.

Usually, cheap stuff like Pantene isn't all that great, but, it depends if it works for you. For instance, I have to spend at like 20 dollars for a bottle of shampoo. It's different for everyone, try it out! =D
