my cat has all these weird scabs all over her. I think that she must be allergic to something. She is an indoor/outdoor cat. I tried to keep he inside to see if it would clear up, but she refused to use the litter box and pissed all over everything, so I gave up on that quick. what do you think it is, and what should I do about it.

Sounds like my cat. I have taken him to the vet and they said it was a reaction to fleas, but he does not have fleas. So I started looking online for supplements for cats and came across VitaCaps (liquid) from drsfostersmith.com. A lot of cat foods do not have enough fatty acids in them so supplements are needed. I have had my cat on this now for about a month, and I have seen a major improvement in his skin. Before his back was covered in scabs and dry skin, but is now almost gone. Something to look into.

ok sounds like you might have a cat like mine. Are the scabs long and not round? My guy goes out and fights they are long sometimes wide but usually thin and they are claw marks. Basically deep scratches healing over and eventually the scabs fall out with a bit of fur attached to it. If the scabs are round then yes it might be allergies. Look at what you might have changed around the house or even plants in the garden if can also be a cleaning product. Try and remember when you started to notice the scabs and review any changes you might have made there might be where your allergy lies.
Also it could be dry skin. You might want to ask you vet for a new shampoo or cream you can use on your cat. If you don't want to go to the vet and it is dry skin you buy some oatmeal (it will be messy) but give your cat a bath in the oatmeal.

i'm with you, sounds like an allergy to me too. If they aren't infected and causing a lot of problems just hope the weed will die and the cat will be ok until next yr. If it's bad you'll need to take it in for a shot. Some cats need one a year to keep this from happening in the spring. Getting late now. I'd just treat the scabs, maybe open benadryl and mix with water and sponge on them to stop the itch. just don't let it all stay on, dry it 0off right away and the cat won't lick it all off. good luck.

Did you see any flea dirt? If so, she has fleas. Even treating with a flea preventative after infestation can cause an allergy to fleas which would explain the scabs.

Probably from the fleas...she is scratching them and making sores. Call the vet to see what they recommend because you aren't supposed to put the flea meds on a pet that has open wounds....
