I also in college and have trouble focus. What I do is for big test or projects I will start studying before the test a week in advance. If you study your notes a half hour to hour each night a week before. If you do so the night before the test you be already familiar with the information. So you won't have to study it as long.

For be projects such as papers I start a month in advance for 5 or more pages and I do a page or two day in my free time in order have time to have it proof read.

Also when I do my laundry one a week I my books down and work on any reading that I need to do for a class. The hour that it takes to do my laundry helps because I get breaks to check on my clothes in between reading. Also know one is usually around making it a quiet spot to do so.

I hope this helps. I know how stress full college can be. This is my Junior year and my first year living in a dorm. I original went to a two year college which was a nice stepping stone.

You should try exercising! It usually helps to calm your nerves a bit and focus on your task at hand. It's usually best to study where you are interrupted, in a relaxing environment (like starbucks). You may also have A.D.D. If so you may want to speak to you doctor, he will prescribe some medicine like aderol or concerta (not sure about the spelling). The best way to study is to study just a little bit throughout the whole week each day. I would not advise sitting down and trying to study for hours at a time (like craming before a test). It helps to go back and revise what you have learned (review a little bit after studying just a bit), because the rate at which we forget is rediculous! You can also try relating what you have learned to curent events in your life. This will help you better understand it. I just started college too, i take PSYCHOLOGY (general) it's required and it tells you how to learn! amazing so take that class!!! Goodluck learning, peace way! Please forgive my writing I'm in the dumb class for it!
