If your religious/spiritual beliefs are at odds with science and technology, then you must seperate or deny one or the other. But yet if my religion/spiritual beliefs are compatable & even reinforced by science and technology. Does that mean that those of us who do not have to balance or deny either, are more spiritually grounded than those who stuggle with them?

No. It just means your religion is more "caught up" to modern science than the religions of centuries ago that many people still try to hold on to.

Scientific hypotheses change as available data changes. Thats what makes it rational. Religion refuses to change its conclusion even after new-found data disproves the old conclusion. Thats what makes it laughable.

I do agreee with you that there are some beliefs which will or will not be compatable with today's facts.

But you must think for one moment, it is a belief. A belief is a thought. Thoughts are changable, Beliefs can be change.

However religious/spritual beliefts are reinforced by their facts like for an example: Christians reinforced their facts with the Bible. If the Bible changes their beliefs will change.

Those who struggles with facts which contridicts their beliefs will show how they handle the real world and the spritual world of their lives.

A person whose beliefs are compatable with today's science and technology can be more spiritually grounded than a person's beliefs which contridicts today's science and technology...

Hope you understand.. if not just message me... Cheers!

It depends upon what your religious/spiritual beliefs are. There may be some that could be be compatible or reinforced by science, but certainly major religions like Christianity or Islam would fall in that category. TThose religions require faith, since they are not compatible with or reinforced by science.

Science and archeology prove the Bible all the time. We need them.

Science is based on observation, known principles and laws of the physical world, and true theory (testable and falsifiable).

Religion of any sort, including atheism, is based solely on faith or a desire to believe.

No matter how you twist and turn the 2, they don't work together. So the answer is simple. Have faith in whatever you feel. Faith needs no justification. But when you try to validate your religion through science it belies your faith and makes a mockery of basal logic.

It means you are a product of modern thought. People who are incapable of merging the two into one cohesive idea of what reality is, are under the assumption that using science to find God's meaning instead of prayer means either denying their God or contradicting His message. Nowhere in the Holy Books do I find a phrase telling us that the search for meaning in life, and the search for order inchaos, is a sin.

I see religion as an overview of science, I don't understand how people can be so blind. Especially since the Bible and Quran describes Evolution. Maybe people who see science and religion have more intellect and belief. But don't know.... Maybe others doubt their religion so dodge everything new instead of embracing new knowlegde and improving their faith. But we all have weaknesses. And some people see things that others can't.

i see no conflict between my religious beliefs and the findings of science. i don't see them as opposing each other in a "versus" kind of way. i think balance is definitely important, and it is okay to grapple with these issues. it is in these struggles that we may discover a deeper level of truth.

The FACTS of science changes from year to year.
Things that were thought as fact years ago are now found to be incorrect.
IE. the Earth is the center of the Universe....
The Earth is flat.....
What next?
If you view science as a religion you will undoubtedly be disappointed.
Faith on the other hand......

When science and religon seem to contradict one another....wait a bit...they'll both change : )

Examples: Religon = Earth is the center of the solar system. It changed. Science = Spontaneous creation of life. It changed.

When one seems to contradict the other...it is our understanding of one, or the other, or both, that is weak.
