Yes you should. Let your mom take care of the child and you just love your brother or sister. Best of luck too all of you.

I've been in your position. When I was nine, my mother/father decided to have another baby. I already had a sister who was a year younger than me. I was used to how things were.
When my brother was born - I couldn't have been happier. I'm ten years older than my brother and I love him dearly. We have a different kind of relationship than I have with my sister but nonetheless - we are close.
Change is always hard to deal with. I think that once the baby gets here, you won't be asking - should you be happy or not. You WILL be happy - holding your new brother in your arms.
Congratulations to you and your family and Good Luck.

No one can force you to be happy although having a new sibling can be fun. Just make the best of it and help your mom and all will go well. If you really don't like your new brother you'll be out of the house by the time he is 5 years old.

You are going to have good and bad days. Help your mom out as much as you can when the baby is born.
It's not your baby but your mom's, enjoy being a big sister !

I am sure you have mixed feelings right now, but when you see and hold him - you will feel differently. Yes, your life and family will change - but at his first birthday - you won't even remember what life was without him.
You will all adjust -
Just enjoy the calm right now - and things the way they are...and prepare for the new baby!

I guess there's not a whole lot you can do other than accept that you're going to have a little brother. No point in being upset, it's not going to make him go away.

I can understand where your coming from, however, this new child will look up to you. You might not appreciate it now but someday when your older......you just might. I hope that you and your family have an enjoyable experience.

Sure! I mean, it's going to feel kind of weird (especially with the age difference), but still, you should be happy and excited for sure! :)
