Bearing false witness. Oddly, Christianity seems to be a magnet for liars. Creating false evidence and false history appears to be a sanctioned activity. You'll find people here on Yahoo adamantly naming disreputable and refuted sources as proof.

Example:
The excerpt from Flavius Josephus ~ Jewish historian's Antiquities
The Shroud of Turin
The Ossuary of James, the brother of Jesus
Walls Of Jericho
Sodom and Gomorrah found in the Dead Sea
Land bridge found under the Red Sea

Yes it does, Thou Shalt Not Bear False Witness. In my book false witness means lying. So there is a commandment saying not to lie. It's just worded differently.

Better read it again and then look at what it means. You shall not bear false witness. What do you think that is? A lie is a falsehood that is not true, false witness.

The ninth commandment states: "You must not testify falsely as a witness against your fellow man."

I think it's kind of implied, though, by the commandments that talk about honoring your parents, loving thy neighbor, etc...I mean, if you respect someone in theory you would not lie to them.
