It's been awesome ever since I freed myself from the shackles of religion and stopped going.

Good, church is one of the few things I look forward to every week.
The sermon was about James chapter 3 and 4. Specifically 4:6
But he gives us more grace. That is why Scripture says:
"God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble."

Very uplifting as usual.
Ever notice no matter what may be going on in your own life, problems with work, family issues, church has a way of bringing you back into focus with life, the spectrum of life in the community?
New babies born.
A child performing her first flute solo.
Marriage.
Illness, cancer, a car accident, death.
You are a part of the whole, the good and the pad, the praise and the prayers.
When we focus on ourselves it’s easy to feel discouraged or disappointed, but when the focus is on the whole church family, we have so many opportunities to reach out and help, and to feel the blessings of life. To me, church seems like so much more than an opportunity to worship our Lord.

It was great! I attend Chisholm Heights Baptist Church in Mustang, Oklahoma.
Our pastor taught about how important it is to maintain your walk with Christ. If you allow sin to develop in your life, God can feel as if he is very distant. My pastor compared it to an angioplasty procedure. The only difference is an angioplasty balloon can only squish fat to the sides of an artery wall to open it up. But Jesus Christ removes the barrier of sin completely! (That is when we repent.)
I know this sounds weird, but it was a very good sermon!

We are in Luke. Today the pastor was teaching about the woman who came in while Jesus was at the Pharisees house and she anointed Jesus with perfume, and washed his feet with her tears, drying them with her hair. The sermon centered on forgiveness....how God forgives us if we ask. This is my story, because it says "she who has been forgiven much, loves much".
Very true.

Excellent. About Gideon and how he was called a great man of valor by God, Gideon thought "who me?" . How these type of people, humble ones who don't think much of themselves or people don't think much of, God will greatly use.
