Do they get headaches from picking wood all day?

OK. I will explain. One of my kids heard a woodpecker that likes to peck the wood trim around our windows. She asked if the woodpecker got a headache from pecking. We couldn't find the answer on the internet.

Their brain is protected from shock by a pad of spongy elastic material between their bill and their skull. Also, their tongue is very long and wraps around the brain case giving added protection.

according to the male woodpeckers i surveyed, apparently it's the female woodpeckers that get the headaches. "not tonight Woody, i have a headache' it's a wonder there are any woodpeckers being born. Do we have Woodpeckers down here? i'm not sure

A little common sense would tell you NO! Would a shark get a toothache from biting bait? They are pecking to get food (bugs) not to just hang around giving you a headache. The ones here are so beautiful.

yes our drug store here cvs has a special drive in windows just for the birds they peck at the drive in windows, hons and the pharmist comes to the window and pops ,tylenoll in there beaks and they fly off hons its one of our best customers for there headaches hons!

i dont think so or else why would they do it if it hurts them if they were tring to make a nest they could make out of other things like other birds.
