I'm not a size 2 but I'm not a sumo wrestler either. I have really low self-esteem because of past events in my life. I just really want to think I'm pretty. It's not that important to me, but everytime someone gives me a compliment I feel like they're lying. I don't know what to do. I don't pray about it or anything because it's not a terribly big deal. I miss the feeling of someone who finds you attractive. I want it back.

Why would people want to lie to you? Low self esteem is a major downer. Iam sure there are many things that make you a wonderful person.Even though our past shapes who we become dont let things hold you back. Do something nice for yourself Get a makeover, a massage, pedicure and do it just to feel pretty. You deserve to feel attractive and when you do people will notice you.

I'm not really sure what the question is here, but I would encourage you to spend some quality time with yourself before rushing into a relationship in order to feel attractive. Lots of people have a need to be in a relationship all the time because they're so insecure on their own. Don't let this be you. There's nothing wrong with being single, and it doesn't mean that you're not hot! You'll be the most attractive to anyone else when you are happy and comfortable with who you are.

There's a saying French women say: "If you believe you're beautiful, then that will make you so.."...Basically, try to gain some self-esteem about yourself. Instead of looking at all the faults you have about yourself, point out the positive qualities; everybody has at least 2 or more. You're probably beautiful, and you don't even realize it! And also, when people give you compliments (especially guys), they mean it, and you should believe it. But, most of all, you yourself should be the first one to think you're pretty. And remember, true beauty comes from within.

obviously, ur looks r a big deal to you or else you wouldn't be asking this question. people can sense if u have low self-esteem, and r insecure...maybe that's y u are not attracting who you want. when u change ur attittude (in a positive way) people will definitely notice. u should be grateful for what u do have, b/c i guarantee that someone else has it a lot worse. my advice is when someone does give u a compliment, just say "Thank You".

If your body doesn't look the way you want it to....you CAN do something about it. Start exercising, eating properly, and do what you need to in order to have the body you want. I'm willing to bet that you're the one that has the problem with it though, and not others. When someone compliments you, accept it very graciously, and say, "Thank You"! They REALLY mean it, in most cases.

If you get a complement make sure it is sincere.

You can tell by the way it is given.

Then, ALWAYS acknowledge the compliment with a Thank You.

Even if it comes from a guy that you are not interested in.

You need to feel good about yourself first before someone else is attracted to you. Take some time for yourself and improve what you don't like.
