That is the title of a blog I read on Blogging Baby. I am wondering on YOUR opinion of the article that now basically says that Elmo is now over rated and even bashes Sesame Street.

Joel Stein had a provocative opinion piece in the LA times yesterday that is sure to enrage legions of Elmo fans around the world: he thinks Elmo is stupid.
Mr. Stein argues that the hallmark sharp, funny writing of Sesame Street is being "destroyed" by the "idiot cuteness" of Elmo and some of its newer members (such as Abby Cadabby). He contrasts the Sesame Street of his era to the show of today with disappointment:
"When I watched "Sesame Street" in the '70s, the human cast and the Muppets were quirky adults who didn't talk down to me with baby voices. Now the human cast gets almost no airtime, and the show is dominated by Elmo, Baby Bear and, now, Abby Cadabby - preschoolers enamored by their own adorable stupidity."
He argues that Elmo is all about Elmo and the only "teaching" he does is to tell kids to care about themselves.

Man. I haven't watched Sesame Street in awhile. I've never analyzed the show like this before, but perhaps Mr. Stein has a point. Is the Sesame Street of today "dumber" than it was in the seventies and eighties? -

Elmo as well as Sesame Street is for entertainment in my opinion. If you want your child to learn something, it is the parents responsibility to teach their child and not elmo.

Yeah! fortunate likes to hit on Rico, comparable as Elmo & play ball, no longer drop it, thinks fortunate.

ELMO IS STUPID!!! He "learns" something every day. My baby cousin watches that shoe every day, it is SOOOOOO annoying! Who can watch that. You can't even understand what he is saying, "Tee hee look at me i think im so smart even know i have the most stupid and annoying voice.":)
