yeah she could be your best person. She should just wear a dress just like the maid of honor and just do the same thing except the speeches and stuff.

A woman can be a best man. You ask how I know? I am currently my brother's best man. The best man should be a best friend and if your best friend is a girl, then go for it! I am excited to be my brother's best man.
Outfit~I asked the bride what her colors are. I wanted to be sure that I coordinated with the wedding party. (I wanted a tux but my bro wouldn't go for it) I decided to opt for a longer dress so that it looked closer to a gentleman's outfit but I kept my femininity. I have opted for a corsage because it would look nicer.
Walking down aisle~I am not walking down the aisle with the girls. I will begin at the altar with my bro. As for the exit, I will follow the Maid of Honor out. We thought that it would look more appropriate than me walking with a girl.

I hope that this helps. You also should not feel weird about having a female best man. She is your friend and is there to support you on your glorious day! :)

Yes, she can definitely be your best man! She would probably be called your "Attendant of Honor" or, my favorite, "Best Dudette." If your fiancee is going to have a man in her party, then she could walk with him. If not, then she and the maid of honor should both walk alone.

The interesting thing would be figuring out what she would wear. She could wear a tux (they do make them for women), a dress the same color as your tux, or a bridesmaid's dress. This would be something to discuss with your fiancee.

I am considering having a Man of Honor. It is becoming very common nowadays. I'm sure your best friend would be ecstatic that you asked her!

Absolutely. She could wear a black dress with white trim to mimic a tux look. Sometimes, the groomsmen don't walk down the aisle, they start out standing at the front and the women walk alone. She and the maid of honor can either walk together back up the aisle, or walk singularly up the aisle, whichever they're more comfortable with. Oh, and no bouquet, but she could have a corsage instead of a boutonniere.

My daughter wanted her maid of honor to be her best friend, but the groom got him for his best man. Go for it, would please though ask your bride first. She may have something to say about it. If she's ok with it, then get to asking.

As far as what she could wear. A she could wear a suit with a skirt or the pants. She could wear the tux, ask her if she would feel more comfortable in a tux, suit or a dress in the color of the tuxs. As far as walking down the aisle, she would walk besides the maid of honor or matron of honor..they don't have to hold hands or anything, but they could just walk side be side. If it was me, I would the tux, always wanted to wear one. So definietly the tux, but I think I would ask since this is a unusually request.

Congratulations, now pick up the phone, and call her. after you call the bride of course....Good luck and happiest of wedding days to you...

God bless us all...

since my daughter got knocked out of her maid of honor, she picked the ring bearer....our family dog that is 10 years old. He was precious. I carried her new wedding gift puppy down the aisle with me. So, a woman being the best man....hey, if she's the best man then let's get to calling!

No a woman cannot be a best man - hear me out.... She would be your Honor Attendant, not your "Best Man".... it is gender neutral not leaving her in limbo-land and it doesnt take her position of honor away from her either. A best MAN is a man by definition. Do not make her try to play that role (no tux's unless shes feeling very butch). In this day and age MANY people men and women alike are choosing to have attendants of the opposite sex.
I recommend she wear a dress or (nice pant suit if preferred) in black with white trim or one that matches any of your chosen wedding colors. Have her stand at the front of the church with you at the beginning just as a best man would do and as for walking back down the aisle after the "I Do's" she should probably walk alone just BEHIND the Bride's Honor Attendant (unless the Bride's Honor Attendant is male, then he should either escort her up the aisle or walk behind her, chivalry shouldnt be dead just because the attendants are "switched" by gender.)
As for her duties, yes she would have all the same duties as a "Best Man" but take into consideration the feelings of all involved... she should probably make herself useful helping to seat guests and such during your actual Dressing time rather than helping you, etc. And your bachelor party might be a little less "testosterone driven" unless you specify what you would like for your party.
Just be sure that both the Bride and the woman you are asking to be your Honor Attendant are okay with the arrangement.

Yes, she can be your Best Person, seen it done before. As for what to wear, up to her really. She can wear a tux if she wants to or she can wear a dress somewhat resembling a tux. As for whom to walk with, that I'm not sure on. Congrats and good luck!

She could wear a dress, and stand by you performing the duties of Best Friend. She can walk herself down the aisle, or wait with you in private chambers and stay at your side for support. It is your wedding, and you can do what you want to make it your "special" day. Congratulations!
