Look him up online, hire a private detective, find out if he goes to church, in active in volunteer work -- if he has anyone reputable who can recommend him. You are smart to investigate. If you have to look, already something may not be right...

google him.. with name address.. school he went to .. by state he lives in.. just make any possible connection. you will be surprised what you can find.. by just googling a person.
