My girlfriend is going to drive my car on a long drive. She is insured, but on a plan that covers her own car, not on my insurance. Could this be a problem if anything happens? My car is insured with me as a driver.

Insurance follows cars, not people. So if you have insurance and she's driving with your permssion, your coverage extends to her.

If your car is insured, and she is driving with permission, she is covered on your insurance. Insurance goes with the vehicle, not the driver. If she is going on a long drive, you might want to sign a note giving her written permission to drive and get it notarized just in case she needs it.

Usually, insurance would follow the vehicle. (If your girlfriend was driving your car - your insurance would pay.) However, the claim may be denied based on how often she drivers.

Better safe than sorry, you can add her to your policy for a few days and then take her off again.

In most states the insurance is on the car, no matter who is driving.

She is covered by her own insurance should anything happen to your car.

As long as she has your permission to drive your car then yes she is covered...as the above person stated...give her written permission...that's just cheap insurance for this question.
