My 20 year old son has been diagnosed with tourette's and has been on numerous medications which don't work or have side effects worse than the tics.

Unfortunately, there is not "one" cure or medicine that works the same for everybody. It is a trial and error process to find what works.

My son takes a small dose of chlonodine, which does help reduce the tics and vocal tremors.

You may find that no medicine is best. It's personal choice. Stress can increase tics, so we try to have a stress free environment (as much as possible), and also my son can tic as much as he needs to at home without comment from others. This helps a lot.

The goal when treating Tourettes naturally is to heal the nervous system and bring the body back into balance.

Eating raw unprocessed foods, free of steroids, antibiotics and additives, limiting the intake of sugar, alcohol, and caffeine, getting rest and taking exercise will all help.Tai-Chi is particularly useful.

Reishi Mushroom (http://www.evitamins.com/product.asp?pid=2161) is a wonderful herb (or functional food) for the nervous system.

I particularly recommend molasses as part of the nutritional program for healing the nervous system and in cases of Tourettes.

I am not really sure about medical cures, but let him express himself about things as much as possible in a quiet place in your home.
