The only universal church founded by Jesus Christ.

Established by the apostles.

Known as "Catholic" since the early 2nd century.

Led by a head pastor and bishop of bishops, the Pope, whose office was established and empowered by Christ.

The "Church" which has Jesus as its' head, and the Holy Spirit as its' eternal advocate, with the irrevocable promises of Christ to preserve it and guide it until the end of time.

The sole seat of authority for the whole church, outside of which there is no salvation, whose complete doctrines are a product of Scripture, plus Apostolic and Sacred Tradition, as defined by the God-ordained, official teaching office.

“The Church is born primarily out of Christ’s total self-giving for our salvation, anticipated in the institution of the Eucharist and fulfilled on the cross."

The origin and growth of the Church are symbolized by the blood and water which flowed from the open side of the crucified Jesus.

"For it was from the side of Christ as he slept the sleep of death upon the cross that there came forth the “wondrous sacrament of the whole Church.”

Quite simply, it does mean universal, but practically, what it is is the Church that Jesus established based on the foundation of His Apostles. Catholicism is the means by which the complete revelation of the Truth that Jesus taught and that the Holy Spirit brings to complete knowledge and understanding of. As you can see, many men oppose this and prefer the traditions of men over the Traditions of God in many ways. Hope this answers your question.

catholics do not have the right attitude toward the truth,They do not invite others to point out where they think they are wrong, and do not appreciate when others try to do so. They won't allow their members to hear both sides of an issue, and especially they don't want them to examine opposing arguments.False teachers have learned that when truth and error are examined side by side, some begin to see the truth. The bible is the all sufficent guide to salvation, but the catholic church teaches that it is not.Christ did not make his church infallible, as the catholic church teaches. Christ did not make peter a pope. ITS a CULT, False Religion!!
2 Timothy 4:3,4 For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine, but according to their own desires, because they have itching ears, they will heap up for themselves teachers; and they will turn their ears away from the truth , and be turned aside to fables.

It is a cult that teaches traditionalisms that are contrary to the inspired Word of God. I used to be a Catholic and now I see the light... I am glad I left.
