Inside my mouth..this has been going on for years but now has gotten really bad..i have a condition that comes and goes..it is very raw and read on the insides of my checks and my gums..and now it is my tongue too that has what I think is not only redness by sores. The dentist, the periodontist..the oral surgeon have all tried to treat it..but have thrown up their hands with saying i have to live with it. The biopsies all come back with saying it isn't pre cancerous..but a harding of the skin and possibly likan plantus..(i am probably spelling this incorrectly) the 'verdict' is that it is not contageous..i just have to live with it. I personally think it is an allergic reaction to possibly substitute sweetner that is in the gum i chew a lot or something? help i am in misery(tomorrow I go to an oral surgeon..have any suggestions?)

It could be allergy or just reaction to the sweetener, but consider the possibility that it is a variant form of candida.

If you think it is an allergic reaction try going to an allergist...have you ever talked to your regular doctor about this condition..or even an Ear, nose and Throat specialist? Just because it is in your mouth doesn't mean that the dentist and oral whosit's can help you.

You may want to stop chewing that gum and using the sweetener if you think that is giving you trouble...you may be chewing your tongue and cheeks as you sleep...I have done that before myself when stressed (and when I had braces). Try rinsing your mouth frequently with salt water or Listerine. I hope you get some relief soon I know mouth pain is the worst...try Advil for the pain it really works on mouth pain.

it truly is termed a canker sore or mouth ulcer. sure, they could be painful! it quite is brought about by stress, an endemic, or an irritant - something on your mouth like braces are some opportunities. a house therapy is rinse with heat salt water. The salt is a organic healing agent. There are over the counter products like cankaid you need to purchase. attempt the salt water rinse first.

my mouth was sore last year..and my gums got sore too..usually just the upper ones...my dentist prescribed Peridex..a prescription mouth rinse...saved my life...it can stain your teeth, but the person who cleans your teeth can get it off easily...after 3-4 days the inflammation went away...whenever I feel the tenderness I use it..very sparingly..always does the trick..oh..and no one could figure out why on me either...go figure...

Not to say this is what it is because I can't see it personally but mouth sores is a symptom of Lupus. You might want to have and ANA test done just to rule it out.
