just keep your ankles level to your head (lie down on a sofa or bed) and put ice on it. It should heal in at least 1 or 2 days. This works for me and all of my friends.

I am a cross-country runner, so i hurt my ankles a lot. When i hurt them, my mom usually has me soak them in hot water with soap. After that try some wintergreen oil, it heats up the muscles and relaxes them and you'll feel better the next day. Also, try laying up against a wall with your feet towards the ceiling. This helps by making the blood flow the opposite way and it gets better circulation in that area.
