has anybody ever been on the atkins diet? and did it work for you why? why not?. when did you start seeing results? thank for your time I appericate it.

I did a modified version of Atkins, eating lean meat, fresh vegetables, nothing fried, and zero bread. I was on it for 7 months, and lost 65 pounds through working out, running 4 miles a day. Results began within the first 2 weeks. I went from a size 16 to a size 5 over a period of 7 months. The bad breath is a result of ketosis, the body burning fat. Frequent brushing teeth, and Eclipse gum do a lot for killing bad breath. The fitness routine actually kick started my metabolic rate, which in turn accelerated the Atkins weight loss. I consumed less than 30 grams of fat daily. So it was low fat, high protein, and a killer fitness routine that actually caused me to loose weight. It is a lifestyle, not just a diet.

I was on it and I lost 55 lbs. in a year. It took about a week to start seeing the results. You have to stick to it dilligently. I found a recipe for low carb cheese cake that is made with eggs and splenda and cream cheese and a few other ingredients so when I wanted something sweet (which I rarely did on the diet) it took the sweet tooth away.Semi sweet chocolate is the lowest carb. too. But I ate alot more on the diet than I normally do. You don't want to let yourself get hungry enough to want to grab something that is not on the diet. I felt better and had alot more energy. My sister-in-law is on it and has been maintaining for years. We eat low carb bread, and sugar free hard candy, meat(cooked however you want), cheese( a whole lb. if you want) and eggs as well as other stuff. It decreases blood pressure where you don't need meds. to keep it down. It has alot of good health benefits.

Okay I've performed each so ... I tried it-didn't lose that mu ch weight and my cholesteral shot through the roof. I just don't think it's a healthy way to eat.
