There is a little black square tab on the back left, move that up or down whichever way it is.

Looking at the bottom of the disk, you should see in the upper left (assuming 3.5" floppy) a slider that moves up and down. It's been so long I've forgotten, but if its up, slide it down and if it's down, slide it up.

If this is a 5.25" floppy, take off the silver or black "sticker on the front right side of the disk that covers a cut-out.

But you really shouldn't be using a floppy - they are way too easily damaged. Get yourself a USB flash drive OR a cd Burner.

Turn the floppy disk over (so the round metal part is facing up) and look for a small black square. If you can see an open spot (like a small gap you can see through), pull the black square down. This will allow you to save.

Hi there

On one corner of the disk, there should be a black tab which covers over a square hole. If the hole is showing, your disk is write protected. Slide the tab over so that the small hole is covered. This will make your disk write enabled.

Hope this helps.

on the back there is a little tab. Make sure this tab is over so that the open space is covered. This allows you to be able to save and erase.
