There are friends from high school who i haven't seen in a long time. They are the closest friends i have from high school. They are a nice group of people. Once at my college i went to a halloween dance. My mom was saying did you talk to anybody new? i told her that i knew mostly everyone who was at the dance. then she told me try to be friends with someone who doesn't have a best friend who doesn't talk to a lot of people. she said to be friends with just one girl. one isn't enough.one of my best friends was changing. sometimes it's good to be friends with someone who has a best friend. then u could all be friends. my mom has 3 best friends she knew them since elementary school. to me it kinda sounds like she's controlling who i should be friends with. i does it sounds like it?

Mom's do that type of things....She isn't picking your friends. She didn't tell you NOT to hang with your friends. She might just want you to have a lot of friends.

Hey,
Who knows, she may be doing favors for an unknown friend by asking you to hangout with them... if not, then ask her why. I had the same problem a while back. My mom said that this chick was new and met her mom at work. Also that she was really depressed about moving away and that it was hard making new friends since she was quiet. I had no problem with making new friends, just moving. So, now we're buds. Just ask your mom why, then tell her how you feel. Don't be afraid to stand up for yourself when you feel uncomfortable in a situation.

It doesn't sound quite like she is picking your friends. It sounds like she is just giving you a lot of advice, which she thinks will help you to get good friends. The kind of advice she is giving you may sound good to her but not to you, just like a lot of advice. So my advice is not to take offence, listen to her advice and make up your own mind.
