its really not because of protein, thats what i had heard to but in school (i am goin to be a vet tech) we found out that it is only because they are bored or because it is something different or new to them. just try to keep him away from poop. as far as a good food to feed him try hill's science diet, eukanuba, iams, or nutro. also make sure you get one that fits him like iams toy breed formula.

Dogs like to eat poop. That's really all there is to it. People find it disgusting, dogs find it delightful. Still most people want it to stop. With that in mind I put together a short page full of links to other people's ideas about the causes of poop eating (more elegantly called "Coprophagia") and ideas on how to stop it. I didn't really use much editorial discretion on the subject because I haven't really studied it enough to have a strong opinion. Thus different sites disagree. Oh well.

Here are some links on the subject of eating feces:

Eating poop is a behavior alot of pups start, they learn to eat poop from watching their mothers eat their and their littermates poop. You can try and keep it cleaned up of course, but there is a product that vets sell called FORBID. You sprinkle it on their food and it is tasteless, but when it comes thru the digestive tract it makes the poop undesirable.. hope this helps

Aggression issues in a 4 months previous domestic dog is an extremely undesirable sign. it might look "humorous" and "beautiful" now besides the undeniable fact that it rather is in basic terms no longer whilst she's biting strangers and persons as an grownup. Take the canine to a expert coach, can not rigidity that sufficient.

your vet can give u a product called panacur and its a powder that you put into his food for 3 days...its goes in tasteless and comes out horrid tasting. Ask your vet. Or you can put tabasco sauce inside the dog poop...after he goes to the bathroom...and let him eat it. He should stop eating it after that. Goodluck
