There are a ton of tooth brushes now, with new ones coming out ever 2 to 6 months. From Colgate, Reach, Oral-B, and even Nickelodeon all of these toothbrushes claim something that will clean your teeth better. So which toothbrush do you use?

I personally just came upon Oral-B's Pulsar toothbrush that gives that little vibrating kick while brushing.

OralB Triumph. Check it out. Every dentist will recommend that you use an electronic toothbrush.

I use the Oral-B Professional Care 9100 Triumph. A toothbrush that oscillates back and forth (any Oral-B Professional Care toothbrush) is the best you can get. The reason why is that you get the most possible brushes per minute, one that oscillates will brush the tooth about 10 times before you could do it once manually. Electric toothbrushes are also better at removing plaque and reducing gum inflammation. You really notice a difference in how clean your teeth feel. It also has a timer and a pressure sensor on it which are both good things. If you want to read the studies done on it go to the link below in my source.

The Bottom Line is: Any toothbrush is good! As long as you are using it properly! Every company out there has a gimmick to make their brush "better" than the others out there, honestly, most of them are almost exactly the same. My advice to you is stick with the brands that you know, Oral B, Reach, Colgate, etc. Make sure that you are using one that is soft bristled and that you are brushing with GOOD TECHNIQUE for an appropriate amount of time (at least 2 minutes)! If you are considering an electric toothbrush, they are good as well (especially Oral B and Sonicare), but be careful not to scrub your teeth with them (let them do the work) because if you use them too aggressively, you can do damage to your teeth and gums!

I am thirty five and just got my first cavity a couple of months ago. I've been using the spin brushes for the last couple of years but since I got my first cavity I have gone back to the firm bristle old style Colgate toothbrush that I used since I was a kid. I did this because I think that the old firms clean your teeth better and also I don't want to go through ever getting another cavity filled again. You have to dig in with the old style though. I suggest eating Oreo cookies then brushing your teeth and then check your teeth. I used to see black there after but I learned how to dig in the grooves and I guess it worked.

the best toothbrush to use is an automatic one like the Braun Oral B or the SoniCare. They just do a better job and most patients I see look so much healthier if they use an automatic tb.

it doesn't really matter whether ur using electronic toothbrush or not. the most important thing is.. angulation of ur brush when brushing ur teeth and also usage of face mirror to see where actually ur brushing. brush all surface. and don't forget to floss.
and someone told me that using a manual toothbrush will make u smarter (^-^).. ( because u have to use ur brain and manipulate ur fingers.. meaning using brain to work all the nerves of your fingers to do all the work instead of just relying on ur self rotating toothbrush. maybe we can do an IQ survey of those using electronic toothbrush and those who don't.

My dentist recommends that if an elecrtic toothbrush is not an option use an Oral-B. He also says to always, ALWAYS use a soft brush head.

I've been a Sonicare Elite user for 5 years now. Tried others but always come back to it.

Crest Complete - a very plain brush - soft bristle. This is what I use myself and dispense in my office.

Oral-B manual brushes are good, also.

Sonicare is the best powered brush.
