they have made tremendous improvements since they first came out. however, beware of the 100K warranty as it looks good on the surface, but the thing is it only covers the engine and drivetrain. you might say "well thats the main parts right" well thats true, but but consider the quality of the a/c, the interior, the electronic mechanisms, and so on which are NOT covered in their warranty. I will say that overall they are a good buy. but remember this, you dont see Honda and Toyota getting all scared about this 100k warranty. their warranty hasnt changed and they consistently sell more cars, and have a higher resale value than Hyundai ever thought about having.

I used to own them but traded to a Honda and never looked back. No, they are not nearly as good in quality as a Honda. The last Hyundai I owned was an 05 Tiburon SE. Within a few months the transmission started going out. The dealership refused to fix it and the corporate office lied to me, claiming that "engineers" were flown in to look at my car. Problem was, the day the "engineers" were there, my car wasn't in the shop. It's a good idea to get your lies straight before telling them. Also, as I later found out, Hyundai has had multiple transmission problems with Tiburons and is now in a class action lawsuit over the 03's.

Another beef w/the 100k warranty. It is non-transferrable, which means if you buy a used Hyundai (even if it's an 06 with 1000 miles on it), the 100k warranty is voided. They do not stand behind their product at all.

Some people will say good, some will say bad. To me, if the corporate office cannot be honest and the 100k warranty is this misleading, it would be red flags for me.
