i read on the internet that dogs were stupid enough to go back to there owners after getting beatin up several times, the cat got hit 2 and was gone when it got the chance, where was the dog....still getting a kick in. dogs are dumb, u put a cat and a dog out side, the cat will come back when ever it pleases but the dog will get either lost or get knocked over! my cat can fetch, the other can open doors. all the dog does is bark. !!

Actually, they'd be smarter because they would know it wasn't worth it to pull your behind through the freezing snow for a lousy handful of kibble as a reward. hehehe

I have always believed that cats are closer to humans in personality than dogs are. There are people who horribly abuse their dog and the dog will still come up and lick their hand. Abuse a cat and (if you live) they'll get even later by pooping on your pillow. :-D

No way! Dogs are far smarter than cats. I've had dogs all my life and I know how smart dogs are. If Disney ever got cats to film the movie '8 Below', they'd never complete the filming! Dogs can execute anything on command...they are soooo smart!

Dogs are waaaay smarter than dogs..on certain levels..like taking commnads..leading the blind attacking the bad and so on..but then cats are smarter on a different level...They actually have one place where they their "business"....and if u squirt with a water bottle they'll pretty much never do it again..u spray a dog with a water bottle and hell still chew on ur shoe till the next day..so just depends what animal your trying to make do whatever..ya know?

If you measure all intelligence then you have to count dexterity and spacial awareness as part of the whole thing.

Cats have a physical dexterity that would put them light years ahead of the common hound.

They produce more vowel sounds then dogs in communication and are as individuals top level hunters.

Which puts them at a higher level then other animals in the intelligence game.

The household cat tend to live better lives then their dog counterparts a definite sign of intelligence.

So my call is that cats are more intelligent.

I have a cat and an Alaskan Malamute who can pull a sled. My dog is more obedient but my cat has the dog under his thumb!
