Sudden onset last night. Discomfort, more than pain, on the inside dimple behind my knee on one leg. I feel it when I walk. I'm thinking onset of varicose veins (how sexy) or a blood clot. Age is mid-40's. Otherwise, very good health. Any other ideas?

Very difficult to diagnose a blood clot clinically. Get a scan to exclude it urgently.

It sounds like a sprained ligament. I am a runner and and have experienced the same pain in the same place you describe. Its really nothing serious but you must take care of it and try not to work your leg too much. I bought a good knee strap from boots chemist and heat rub. Mine was pretty bad but was good as new after 2-3 weeks. If in doubt see a doctor or perhaps a physio.

Sounds more like leg cramps...or perhaps the onset of PAD..peripheral artery disease...either way just to be on the safe side you may wanna get that checked out especially if it persists. Good luck to ya!

Is it like a cramp? You might want to try putting a bar of soap under your bottom sheet. No-one seems to know how or why this works, but against a control group, the reduction in attacks was far more than the placebo group.

Definitely needs to be checked out asap. You don't want to mess with even a slight chance of thrombosis.
