I've heard that you should give it a full month to notice any change. 10m. is low, but it may be enough to help you.

I have a lot of anxiety problems and panic attacks and it stopped them. I'm not as anxious, but to a point I still am, a little.

It helps with Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (cleaning, cleaning, etc) - at least it did with me, but after a few years I notice my symptoms returning.

I'm up to the max: 60mg. a day now, but I want to go off of it because others tell me I act emotionless, or like a robot. That is how I feel also. I would cry before in sad movies, and now I just shrug my shoulders and don't really care. There are pros and cons to all medications. I'd say give it a try for a month.

You have to start out slowly with it. Prozac is a pretty moderate drug compared to most psychiatric meds, but it still has side-effects. Usually it's for depression or other problems that are normally treated with serotonin inhibitors. Since everyone's brain works differently, you'll have to wait and see if Prozac works.

(Damn, now I'm sounding like a pharma ad! Ugh...)

10 mg. is the normal dose for Prozac. It should help. Just be sure to take it at the prescribed dose for at least 2 weeks to a month because it takes that long for a person to be able to notice the difference.

I hope you feel better soon.

This is the same dosage that my doctor prescribed to me and it really helps with anxiety. I have tried several of the other medications and this is the first one that has really worked and I have been able to rest at night. You have to take it as prescribed and talk to your doctor about how it is working. Sometimes it has to be raised due to symptoms or factors such as weight gain, etc., but believe me this has been a total Godsend.

It depends on how long ago your doctor prescribed it to you. If it is just recently it is just the starting amount. with time and if needed it will go up. personally i didn't like Prozac. different meds work for different people. if you are under 18 Prozac is the safest meds. i hope things work out for you.

i could take prozac like prescribed and considered one of you ativan. then use your 2nd ativan take given which you like it. so which you arent french fried. And if it do no longer paintings that way take it like the dr says. i understand Ativan calms your stress. If 1mg is to lots of Ativan you may shrink them in a million/2 and make it a .5mg. you may take Ativan each and every 6 to eight hrs aside. while you're nonetheless uncertain call your dr and ask questions

This is a normal starting dose. It can have a positive effect at this dosage but your doctor will slowly up the dosage until you feel that it is working...the 'normal' adult dose is around 40 mg or so.

He has to start low, on your next visit advise wether it helped you or not. Then he might raise the miligrams.

you have to start at a low dose to see how it affects you first....your dr. will monitor you, and if there's no change in a few weeks, he/she may increase your dose
