There are 3 solutions. One is YOU remove Caller ID service. Since that's most likely not an option, then it's up to your friend to unblock his/her ph #. Second one is ask them to dial *82 before they dial your phone number. They hear a 2-3 second double dialtone, then a long single regular dial tone. Then they can dial your # from there.

If they refuse, politely tell them that you have Caller ID & want to know who's calling before you answer to avoid harrassing calls & that you'll pick up as soon as you see their # on the Caller ID display. If they still refuse, politely tell them that you won't be able to answer the phone when they call since their # is blocked. Remind them that they'll have to leave a voicemail message for you to return their call.

Third is to ask Bellsouth about Call Intercept, aka Privacy Detector. It keeps unknown & blocked calls from getting through. They'll have to record their name before the call's put through to your phone. I have this & it's great. Those that refuse to use it don't call or send me an email.

I'm not sure about Bellsouth but I know a lot of phone companies have a service you can put on your phone in which any callers HAVE to unblock their numbers to call you. I have it on my phone and it's wonderful!

Did she, consistent with probability, have reason to block your pal's type? Like, consistent with probability, that your 'pal' would desire to be getting you into somewhat some problem. or perhaps it rather is a controversy of courtesy in no longer tying up the telephone too plenty. confident, you will detect some surreptitious technique to maintain in touch such as your pal - it rather is so common as asking the pal to apply yet another telephone - yet consistent with probability would be extra beneficial to purpose and verify despite situation you mom has with the pal - this is the extra user-friendly and grownup way.

On cell phones (and I think on all phones),

Blocking:
*67+number+SEND
Unblock:
*82+number+SEND
