I have a flight leaving out of O'hare on December 15th. What are the chances that this will be delayed or cancelled due to weather?

I have heard that O'hare is notorious for cancelling flights... is this true?

Any advice for me?

Thanks!

The chances are good, but you just need to wait it out. Nothing much you can do.

well yes they do cancel flights for safety and security reasons if the weather is too severe to fly. You really can't do anything about the cancellations since I fly out of OHare every so often when I am flying I've had flights that were delayed to the point of cancellation. But all you can do is show up on time and pray that the weather will not cause a problem for your travel plans.

In 20 years of travel through O'hare, it is never smooth there. Always delays and cancellations. And then add weather into the mix, it is not pretty. I will go out my way to avoid flying through O'hare. They are always overscheduled and weather situations make it worse.

I've flown out of there a couple times, I am going thru this wednesday and changing planes there. I have never had a problem other than a few minutes.

There is nothing you can do about it. If the weather is bad or something you can't prevent it. This can happen anywhere, for any reason. So, be prepared watch the weather and go with the flow.

Well the location and the time of year does not look good, but if there is no big storm at the time they do everything they can to keep the runways clear. It's way to early to worry.

If we start getting snow or ice about a 75pct chance of a delay.
