Uh ...

If the water that came to your house thru either your well or your city supply had lead in it then the hot water will.

The hot water heater does not contain lead.

If your water contains it, then it would show up more in the hot water. Let your water run for a few minutes and use cold, if it needs to be hot, then heat it. It's not worth lead poising!

It depends on the water in your city.. It is doubtful that the city would allow any lead tdo be contained in the water. Thus.. I would say that NO.. tdhe water coming in does NOT contain lead

It can.
Depending on your plumbing (pipe connections) and the water in your area, there is probably at least a little lead in the water from your tap.

That's why I have both a whole-house water filter and a drinking water filter in the kitchen.

If you do have lead in your hot water it could be from the leaching of lead from cast brass faucets.

Your best course of action would be to contact your local water utility or your state laboratory and ask if they can test your tap water for lead contamination. A common method for lead analysis is atomic absorption photospectometry. However, there may be colorimetric or voltammetric methods available.

The action level for lead in drinking water in 1998 was 0.015 mg/L.

Also, your local water utility is required by law to report levels of various organic and inorganic contaminants in their water.

I'm not sure but the hot water in my house always looks cloudy, so I never use it for cooking or anything.
